I am working on a product catalog that will be using a data merge to input information from a csv file. When I click create data merge, my InDesign crashes immediately and I get the error "Error: Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents."
On my co-workers computer, his InDesign file crashes when he selects one of the data merge fields. That is before he even creates the exported data merge file.
Here is a link to my error report

Hi together,
in at least one occassion a data merge process will crash InDesign:
[1] The data fields are on a master page
[2] Either the text frame or graphic frame holding the data fields is locked or the layer of the text frame or graphic frame holding the data fields is locked.
This is a known bug reported by Colin Flashman here:
Data Merge: Data on a master page AND on a locked layer CRASHES when creating merged document
Colin Flashman, January 13, 2018
Please visit the report and vote for fixing it.
If a locked layer or locked item is not the cause, please share more details and a file.
Thanks,
Uwe Laubender
