InDesign CC 2018 Crashes when using Eyedropper Tool

As stated in the title, since the latest InDesign update(s) my auto recovery feature no longer works so I have to revert back to simply saving ever 5 minutes. To add insult to injury, the pipette tool keeps on crashing InDesign. I do a lot of formatting and find the pipette tool essential for my work.

Anyone else suffering from this issue?

Please Adobe can you make sure that your software works before its release, rather than using the community for your Beta testing, I've wasted many hours now, recreating work that I've already done

I'm using a 2013 27" iMac | 3.2GHz | macOS Sierra version 10.1206

I'm on a Mac with High Sierra and I'm assuming your on CC 2018.

I'm having no problem with crashes or recover. Nor with typing a "pipette" character:

I'd try restoring your InDesign preferences:

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

I think the user is referring to the Eyedropper tool here, Steve, and not the the pipe character.

gwengo, There is a bug with the Eyedropper. Adobe is working on the update.

I'm pretty sure that what the OP calls the "pipette" is the eyedropper tool.

. . . I do a lot of formatting and find the pipette tool essential for my work. . .

The eyedropper tool for picking up and copying styles seems to be what the OP is missing.

Sorry, missed that. I've never heard the Eyedropper tool called the Pipette tool!

There's a fix for the Eyedropper crashing in tables problem here:

Crash fixes for October 2017 (13.0) release of InDesign CC

There will also be a bug fix update coming before long.

Hello, yes "Pipette" is a French word for eyedropper tool.

I'm on a MacBookPro 2016 ans High Sierra béta and everything seem to be working fine with Indesign CC 2018

WOW, thanks guys! the Crash fix that Steve suggested has worked like a treat so far.  Theres just the issue with the auto recovery now but thats not a big issue to me, unless the pipet/eyedropper tool starts crashing the programme again.
