InDesign Consistently Crashes Computer when selecting page in document

OSX 10.13.2 Indesign 13.0.1 (CC 2018)

New blank document. Place large word document (400 pages) and flowed the text.

Click on page selector at bottom bar to select a page from list, and the computer crashes or logs off (closes all programs.)

Have tried deleting InDesign prefs (CTRL+ALT+OPT+CMD when starting) and it did this (cleared all the prefs and previous documents.)

Have tried recreating the document again.

Have opened a few other documents but this problem doesn't seem to happen in them.

For the problem document try the following:

File > Save As
Change the format to InDesign Markup Language (IDML)
Then after you've created the .IDML file, choose File > Open and navigate to the IDML file an open this.

Hopefully that will sort out the issues, as from your tests it seems there is an issue in the one document only.

That did not work. So, NOT the correct answer in this situation.

Once I had saved-as in the idml format, I closed everything and reopened, and opened that file, Click on the page selector again and crash.

At this point, I'm splitting the Word document into pieces and placing it that way, assembling them in an indb.

Haven't run into the problem again, so it is something to do with size of the file and Indesign. Word has no problem with the 400+ page file, but apparently Indesign is having trouble 400+ pages placed from Word.

So I guess this is a bug.
