1. I've uninstalled and re-installed indesign.
2. I am using Windows 10.
3. The file remains open with no problem, until I start typing it, then it shuts down after a few seconds to a minute.
4. I've resaved the file as Idml. The file opened but with the design all messed up.
5. I've opened the file on my desktop computer (also windows 10) and it's working just fine. Not crashing.
6. A new indesign file on my laptop computer doesn't seem to crash. Just this one specific file.
7. I've deleted all the recovery files for indesign as well.
The problem started yesterday after a BIOS update. I was working on the file. Then something about a BIOS update popped up. I clicked OK not realizing it would cause my computer to restart. And it did with indesign being open.
And since then the problem has persisted with only this file.
For the people who also have this problem:
The problem was a corrupted text box. For some reason, only typing text on that particular page was causing a crash. And all the other pages were safe. So since it was working on my desktop, I just finished that page on deskstop and then edited the rest of laptop with no crashing.

To clarify: This crash is taking place in this file only (so far) on my laptop. My desktop has no problem with crashing that same file at all. Both my computers use the same OS and version. And both have been updated to Indesign 2024.

Hmmmm. Outside shot here: Replace the fonts being used and reinstall them.

Hi,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the solution that worked for you. In future if anyone else experiencing similar issues on a specific file, you can isolate the issue by dividing the documents in halves till you isolate the corrupt page.
Thanks
