InDesign displays colored stripes instead of image (works fine on another computer)

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with Adobe InDesign.
When I place a JPEG image, it doesn’t show the actual picture — instead, I only see vertical colored lines across the frame.

The weird part: the exact same file opens and displays perfectly on another computer running the same version of InDesign. I’m on macOS [15.5] with InDesign [20.5].

Do you have any ideas or known fixes? Thanks in advance!

Hello @Stefan24184166rlay,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind trying to run InDesign under a different administrator account (macOS) and checking if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Anubhav

Looks like this known issue in InDesign and Photoshop:

There are solutions in that thread, too.
