InDesign Document won't open.

Hi Guys.

I have the most recent up to date CC. I opened and worked on an InDesign document that was CS4. I saved it as an 'idml' which can be opened down to CS4.

No problem. However, when I went to open this document in CC I got this message:

Cannot open the file "Cleggs.idml". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.

Well, it wasn't open in another application, as I explained above, it's saved correctly for what I need it for. Which leaves plug-ins. I haven't had this problem before, it was working fine last night. If it is the plug-in, how do I know? and how do I get the plug-in?

Thanks for any help you can give!

As a further piece of information, I opened up another document that was saved the same way, and had no problems. Still can't open the other document though.

Does this InDesign file link to another InDesign file? That is, is an INDD file placed in it?

Hi Scott,

No, it's just a ton of images in the file and text.
