Hello, I am a beginner to idesign.

Is there a way to download and edit the book i have created in idesign (this includes photos) on my mac?

I need to esit this over a period of time and I cant afford to keep paying the monthly subscription at the moment.

Thankyou

Julie

If you saved all your files locally on your Mac they will remain available for as long as your Mac is working. If you saved them to an Adobe Cloud folder I believe you will need to have an active subscription to retrieve them.

Unfortunately you cannot continue to use InDesign to edit your files when your subscription has lapsed, but you can use a month-to-month subscription when you can afford it to continue in the future, but I strongly urge you to save your files to either your Mac or a cloud service like dropbox to which you have a subscription so you don't lose them (and make a backup someplace).

Thankyou Peter

What type of file do you suggest i back it up as? Ive saved it as an interactive file so far to do basic edit notes.

By backup I mean make a copy of all the files (.indd, and any linked files) in a safe place, such as on a USB drive or some other location in case you have a hard drive crash and lose your main copy. You can use File > Package... in InDesign itself (if your subscriptrion is active) to copy everything into a single folder.
