Hello,
We have a problem with our programm.
We had a few files which we saved with indesign in one file (we combinated few files in one) and after it, we exported them to PDF X1 - after export we had problem with one file - there was missing some elements.
After it, we tried to made an experement - Original file with whom we had problem, we opened it in Acrobat and save as PDF X1 - and there was not any problem, all elements was in file.
Please see files in link: https://we.tl/STfuK0zaD6
Can you please explain us where is the problem?

Hi airprinta,
If I get your query correctly , some elements are missing when PDF exported with PDF X1 standard. It could be possible if you have some transparency effects applied on some objects.
Also, please try steps shared in below mentioned links and share you observations.
Objects in placed InDesign files disappear when printed or exported to PDF (InDesign CS4)
InDesign CS6 Export to PDF has missing objects

Hello, thanks for your answers.
Some wrote that on another computers everything is ok. Maybe they didn`t see missing objects. Please see which details was missing.
We also checked export on older indesing versions and the problem was the same.

What is the version of InDesign and OS X you are using?
Did you try with GPU Acceleration off ?
Do you do any sampling of pixels when exporting? I did not when testing with CS6 8.1.0.
( I would do nothing with reducing resolution of images. Just turn that off for bitmaps in case you have turned it on. )

Uwe

I was able to replicate your problem on Win7 / CS6.
Two possible solutions: either use PDF/X-4:2010 standard on export from ID, or flatten your placed Original.pdf in Acrobat prior to exporting it from ID.
Well, I know, you’ve tried it already and know it works. It’s not an answer to the question WHY.
Seems like InDesign may or may not have some problems to flatten it on export. FWIW, I had some bad experience with PDF/X-1a:2001 standard from ID, too.
Just for the record: you’re not alone.
@Uwe:
there’s no „GPU acceleration” on my system, natively...

Hi,
just tested your sample document with CS6 8.1.0 on Mac OS X.
No problem to export to PDF/X-4.
No problem to print to PostScript and distill that to PDF/X-1a.
No problem to export to PDF/X-1a.
However, it took a very long time to export to PDF/X-1a compared with printing to PostScript or exporting to PDF/X-4.
Did not test with InDesign CC 2017.1 yet, the version you created the document.
I have no idea what's going wrong on your side with the bitmap 1bit images in the placed PDF.
Nothing's unusual. Just a PDF placed and rotated by 90°…

Uwe

Hi,
Same here.
I the latest version of InDesign it worked but took a very long timer.
Open your background panel to see when the file is finished being processed.
You will get error message if you open the file before it is finished.

Did you check if the linked file is updated in InDesign and if the drive is evailable when you export from InDesign.
Do you have the problem, if you package the InDesign file on your local drive and export then from there?
