Indesign is not allowing me to use certain colours

Hi guys,

I am trying to use a deep red in Indesign, however when I move the colour picker to this colour "ff0000" it defaults to "c5462b" which is a burnt orange colour. Can anyone advise on this please?

Thanks in advance.

Happy New Year!!

The Color Picker is cursor sensitive. If your cursor is in one of the C, M, Y, or K fields, the chosen color will be the closest CMYK value—your capture is showing an Add CMYK Swatch button (#FF0000 RGB is not in the CMYK gamut). If you put your cursor in one of the R, G, or B fields the picked color will be RGB.
