Hello there,

I have recently finished a photography book and I'm having a lot of trouble with a page and bleed space.

When I open the file, it is cut, in the borders in the middle, the content of page 5 is on page 6, and page 6 on page 5...

What is happening with my file?

Thanks.

It is normal as it is, if you need inside bleed, like with wire-O-bingings, then you will have to separate single pages to separate spreads but also create content with inside bleed.

  1. Open Window > Pages Panel
  2. Select the specific spread you need to seperate by clicking twice on the page numbers below the thumbnails in the Pages Panel.
  3. In the Pages Panel Menu deselect the option to Allow to Shuffle Pages.
  4. Klick twice on one of the thumbnails of that spread to select the page.
  5. Drag that thmbnail to aside until you sea a vertical bar, Release it.

Is your doc set up as facing pages? It looks like you're bleeding on the inside of the page, which is what you need if the printer wants bleeds. Typically that's cut off, so you shouldn't need to worry.

Set the Inside Bleed to 0. Most common binding methods don’t require inside bleeds. The inside spine edge is folded not trimmed. If you provide a bleed it would get removed when the pages are imposed by the printer.

How is the brochure being bound? Is it really a wire-o? If it is a more common binding like saddle-stitch or perfect binding separating the pages to would be a waste of time.
