InDesign Link annotation not nested in link structue

Community Beginner ,
Jan 17, 2025 Jan 17, 2025

I'm facing issue in InDesign PAC validation, that it shows error 'Link annotation not nested in link structure' even though pdf has <link> tag and inside it have Link -Objr. But the <Link> & Link-Objr point to some other text, along with its tagged text. IS there any solution to fix in InDesign or PDF.

Hey @dt0245d3009278,

This sounds like a bit of a puzzle.

Would you mind sharing which version of InDesign you’re using and the details of your operating system?

Also, if you can share a quick screen recording of your whole workflow showing how the links are set up and exported, it would make things much clearer.

Looking forward to your update so we can tackle this together!

Best,
Abhishek

InDesign Version: 20.0.1
Windos OS: Windows 10 Pro

Given screenshot for the issue, InDesign generates hyperlinks but the in the accessibilty pdf  <Link> tag  &  Link Objr selects another broken link above. This occurs in the whole indd. in the PAC validation it error shows 'Link annotations is not nested in link structure'. How to resolve it?

Hey @dt0245d3009278

Since it’s happening throughout the file, could you share the INDD file with me? We might need to check it with the product team to figure out what's going wrong. If the file is confidential, feel free to DM it to me over the community.

Let me know if that works!

Best,
Abhishek

I'm having the same issue. Has there been a solution to this problem? I have two indesign files in which this error occurs.
Adobe Indesign version 20.1 on MacOS

Hi @Annika22534538uokk,

Thanks for reaching out! I know this issue can be frustrating, and we're looking into it. To investigate further, we would need to reproduce the issue internally. Would you be able to share the INDD file as a packaged version? You can follow the steps here to package your file:

If it is confidential, you can share it via DM on the Community. Let me know if you can share the file, and I’ll keep you posted on any updates! Looking forward to your response.
