Indesign memory usage on imac 24

When I open indeisgn on my imac with 8gb ram, it keeps crashing and I receive an error from apple saying too much memory is being used on my imac although the only app ehich is open is I design!

Recommended minimum RAM is 16GB. And BTW, it's far easier to create a screenshot than taking picutures with camera. Take a screenshot on your Mac - Apple Support

I've been using InDesign on my MacBook with 8gb ram with no problem for years and it worked fine! But I bought an iMac and this problem acquired, at the end of the day Indeisgn using 34gb of memory is nonsense!
Also thank you for your input about taking a screenshot but my imac was lagging and that wasn't possible.

Sorry about the trouble. If you are using macOS Monterey, then this is a known Apple issue (https://9to5mac.com/2021/11/26/three-monterey-bugs/#:~:text=now%20getting%20old.-,Application%20memo....
