Why does my menu change to Swedish from English in indesign when I open a file originated in Sweden? And how do I change the menus back to English?

That's very unusual - usually  only happens if you have the Swedish version of InDesign installed on your computer. And perhaps it's opening that version of InDesign.

I agree with Eugene, that would be highly unusual.

What version of InDesign are you using? What operating system?

If you're using a Creative Cloud version of InDesign, it would be controlled by the preferences in the Creative Cloud desktop app. Open that app (menu bar on Mac or task bar in Windows) and click on Preferences (gear icon), and tell us what language is set. Here is where it's set:

Hi,

I am using Creative Cloud

The language is set to English International.

But I have just noticed this in the Advanced Options, ‘Import previous settings and preferences’, perhaps if I uncheck this it will not import the Swedish settings & preferences???
