Hi
My Indesign is not closing after using the software, only way to close is to Control, Alt and delete
Telling me the software is all up to date ?

what's your exact operating system?
Are you on InDesign 2023 with version 18.5.0 ?
Are you connected to the web when the issue happens?
I've seen this when I was offline.

Well, if it is not resolved I unmarked my answer as the "Correct" one.
As for now, I only can tell, that this happened to me as well when I was offline and working with InDesign 2023 version 18.5.0. Closed a document where all the links of placed graphics pointed to a server volume on a local network. Tried to quit InDesign then, but it won't quit. I had to kill the process. All that on macOS 12.6.8.
Unfortunatelly this is all I can contribute for now.
If you are working online and this happens when all documents are closed, I have no idea what exactly is going wrong on your side.

Ok Thank for your help, its a little frustrating as just seems to hang.
I savbe what i work on then close the document but program will not close or let me use any tags on the top ?

You likely have an inactive/unaccessable drive pinned to your Quick Access panel that the program is trying to access. Try removing drives from Quick Access. I was having this same problem and this resolved the problem.

I've had the same issue for a few weeks now. It seems completely random when it happens. I just had this happen when I closed a document and the actual app would not close without going to my task manager to close it there. I opened up the same exact file again to test, closed it again, clicked the X to close the app and suddenly it closed just fine.
I am usually always connected to a server drive through work, either directly or through a VPN. I've had the issue both ways.

This is still happening to us in 19.0. I thought that updating would fix it, but it did not.

Mine now seems fine, very strange, no updates installed, made a large catalogue and the error dissapeared !
