InDesign not opening

InDesign worked earlier today, now it doesn't open at all. Thought I'd uninstall it to re-install it, but I get a message stating I need to cancel my project first. Well can't do it cause it will not open. Stuck! Any advice?

Which project does it want you to cancel? Can you share the exact message you get. A screenshot of the error message would abe helpful

Have you tried rebooting the computer?
It sounds like InDesign is actually still open off-screen.
