Hi, this seems basic but I can't seem to find anything.
Is there a way to change the default setting of Object Layer Options – the "When Updating Link:" dropdown default is "Keep Layer Visibility Overrides". I would like it to always be set to "Use PDF's Layer Visibility".
Any help would be appreciated, thanks ☺️

Hi @ric_4352,
Thanks for reaching out! I understand that this functionality is important to you, and I apologize for its unavailability at this time. Currently, InDesign doesn't offer a way to change the default setting for "When Updating Link" in Object Layer Options, it will always default to 'Keep Layer Visibility Overrides,' and adjustments have to be made manually.
Would you mind creating a UserVoice request for this feature here: Adobe InDesign: Feature Requests? Adding your comments there will help the product team understand how valuable this change is to your workflow. It also ensures you’ll be notified of any updates regarding the request.
Let me know once you've posted it or if you need help with anything else. Always happy to assist!
