InDesign online templates for web to print pdf

New Here ,
Jul 02, 2019 Jul 02, 2019

I'm looking to see what apps are available to make editable, online templates so that remote users/customers can change content, via a web portal, for print items like business cards, etc.

I've come across 'Chili', that works with InDesign, but is there anything else out there? I've tried asking Adobe directly, checking if they have direct support for this functionality, but the online support team don't appear to understand my query.

Any help gratefully received.

InDesign doesn't offer that facility, unless your customers also have a copy of InDesign.

Adobe Indesign Server is a flexible platform that along with heavy duty programing could create a web to print portal similar to Chili Publisher.

Cheers. As I suspected/feared. I can't believe Adobe hasn't developed this for InDesign.

You can make a feature request to Adobe: Adobe InDesign Feedback

They have; and it is called "InDesign Server", to distinguish it from the regular InDesign.

What you propose is explicitly forbidden to do with the desktop version of InDesign. Which makes sense. If you wrote something like a Tax Form fill-in application, you 'd want your individual users to purchase it as well, rather than everybody sending their tax forms to a single person that bought your app.
