InDesign Package with Library Links

I have a document of images (roughly 24 pages at 24x36 size) and saved most of the images in my library to be able to keep track and organize (roughly 222 links).  However, now that I want to package the file, I get an error "cannot copy necessary linked files."

Is this because most of the images are located in my library?

I tried selecting all of the links from the library and copying to a folder in the links panel, but also get an error that "copying links to a folder failed."

I did embed the links for a test run and that packaged fine, but then you lose the association of links.

Any other thoughts or options?

Are the images really large? You may not have enough room. Make a copy of your InDesign file and export it to IDML, open and save it, then try to package it.

If it works with the images embedded, why do you need to have links? You haven't really explained your workflow very well. Is this just something for yourself? Or are you printing it? Or sharing with others?

We have this document saved to our network, where others will have access.  Ideally, all of the links would stay live so if we need to adjust or edit, we can do so.  When embedding the links, the file was almost 5x larger.

If you use images in the library, are they not able to be packaged? What is the point of having a library and sharing across programs, if the only way anyone has access to the images is if they have access to a creative cloud account.

Tell us more about the computer you're working on. It may not be up to handling the file sizes you're working on. Also please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

We did figure it out eventually.  One of the links was sent for a concept image through the library and it ended up being an editorial use only which didn't show up until we sifted through the stock details.

Once we changed out that image, all of the links could be saved to a folder by right clicking in the links panel; it was able to be packaged as well.

A licensing issue for the image caused all of the issues.

Thanks for the feedback and help to try to resolve.
