InDesign Script - export to PSD layer

Hi all,

Does anyone know where below mentioned sript can be found: zenodesign.com/scripts/PagestoPSLayers.zip

I had it installed but disappeared after the last update.

It enables users to export an INDD document to a layered PSD file - amazing!

Thanks, but the JS version didn't work with either combination of ID and PS.

Updates to ID 20.0.1 and PS 26.1.0 and it works well.

just wondering where the latest option for ExportLayersToPSv6.jsx is available. i tried the one from https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/fgl2b67v7iuyu701twgc9/h?rlkey=gygixac74tr4mp9l87oa2l1a9&e=1&dl=0 but having issues for me on Mac with Indesign 2026 v21.0.1 and Photoshop 2026 v27.0.0 it comes up with this error in photoshop. but if you run the script again it works on the second round.

Hi @SimonLeong , ExportLayersToPSv6.jsx is the latest version. I like to stay 1 or 2 versions behind with my CC apps, so I don’t have a fix for you right now. Do you get the error if Photoshop is running and active before you run the script?

hi rob, just ran the script with photoshop not open and it didn't come up with errors. so i think you solved why the error came up, because photoshop was already open before the Indesign script was run. well done.

Hi, I'm having an issue. The InDesign file gets exported to Photoshop as a background layer and a Smart Object but when I try to open the Smart Object it gets exported to Illustrator. Is there a workaround for this because my client wants the IND files as PSD files?
