InDesign version 2021 16.4

New Here ,

Hello everyone,

I really need help getting the old 2021 16.4 version of InDesign.

I already messaged the support, but no help by them. Is there really no way to get my hands on the older version? Prodesgintools just refers to the support sadly.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

There's no official way to get InDesign 2021. If Adobe can't help you, then nobody can.

Can you tell why exactly you need InDesign 2021? Maybe there are ways to achieve what you need with the current versions.

Thanks for your help offer!

Sadly, it's because of a client, the current version works fine on my set up

I've found that Adobe Support has provided download links to older versions of InDesign 100% of the time, when asked correctly. In addition to Leo's question of "why do you need it?" I'd want to know how you asked for it. Did you communicate with a human being, or with the AI support agent?

They told me, they can't provide any versions older than 18.0 .
He didn't ask for a reason, instead just told me, that he read my problem which I told the bot before and that I should ask the community about it.

After some chit chat, that I can't find useful infos in the sub, I told him, that I work with a client, who can't update on recent versions, because of a Plugin, but no help.

Do you think I should contact support again and be more persistent about it? I really need it for work 😞

That's very weird, and not very old.  Also quite disappointing. But I think that doing this might be current Adobe policy, which seems to have changed since the last time that I checked this policy.

I just went through chat support and was directed to the "Creative Cloud Support Policy" where they now say that you can only get 'em to create a DL link for something two versions older that what is current. So, they could make me a link to download v18, but nothing older that that.

Except for this bit, emphasis mine:

"Adobe will not make available Creative Cloud versions that are N-3 or older. Neither will Adobe provide support (including feature updates, bug fixes, security updates, OS compatibility, browser support, or assisted support) for such versions. However, Adobe Customer Care may, at its discretion, provide limited support for N-3 or older versions."

I went through the chat and was not able to get 'em to create a DL link for 16.4, although the above implies that somebody should be able to. Also older versions are apparently available to Enterprise clients through their admin tool, but I haven't known anything about how that works for fifteen years.

Maybe the bit at the bottom of this page would be relevant to you? Seems that, if you have a Teams trial, you get access to the admin tool that I mentioned in my previous post.

I just tried it and unless I missed something, it has the same limitations now as the regular Creative Cloud.
