I am using Windows 10 and have tried to reinstall Indesign as it wouldn't launch. It won't install as it says it is still open but having gone through Task Manager everything (to my knowledge) is closed. Have tried rebooting and no joy. Have tried the Creative Cloud App repair tool and am now a bit lost. Help!!
Re-run the cleaner tool and unistal the desktop app as well, then reboot. Reinstall the desktop app (and sign in), let it update, and hopefully it will allow you to install your other apps.

Try Creative Cloud Cleaner tool for uninstallation.

Thank you very much, have tried this and Creative Cloud still says I need to close Indesign 2023 before it will let me reinstall it, which is odd as Indesign 2023 is not installed.

Are you trying to do this through the Creative Cloud Desktop app? You can't, as far as I know, install the individual apps separately and you must use the desktop app to load them.

Thank you. Yes have tried through the desktop version - which still says there is a conflict in installing as it says Indesign 2023 is still open. Indesign is not installed so cannot be open. Nightmare.

Rebooting after any software removal is essential. You can also look in the Windows task list for any persistent InDesign task or routine that's still running, and manually stop it. The latter is not common after rebooting, but loaders and monitors can sometimes restart even if the main app is long gone.
