I have an index in one InDesign document. The book has been reworked. The index was done manually before. How do I import the existing index into the new InDesign document and generate a new index?

You can't import an existing index into an InDesign document. Since the index was done manually originally, the book should really go back to the indexer so that they can adjust the index.
