Is there a way to make a editable carousel (gallery? column?) of photos?

Is there a way to make a editable carousel (gallery? column?) of photos?

I've attached a photo of what my format looks like now. I'm working on a sewing pattern so there's about 20 pages of this. Now, if I deciede I want to add a new graphic between two photos, I have to redo all the spacing for the following pages (as the grapahic would push one of my photos to the next page). It would make my life so much easier if I could place all my photos at once in one linked (editable) carousel.

Is this called something? Bonus if you can tell me if there's a way to automate the spacing.

You should prepare one "set" - Photo + TextFrame - group them, copy, then paste in the "main" Story.

The "main" Story would be a TextFrame inside margins.

So your "set" would be an Anchored Object  and flow like a Text - then you can duplicate them and fill with your data.

There are always better ways than using manually placed frames. One would be frames anchored into a text flow so that you can shuffle them like any other flowing element. Another would be either a two-column table for your image/instruction pairs, or if that has management and flow issues, independent two-column/one-row tables that are then anchored in the text flow.

Proper use of Object Styles, Table Styles and Cell Styles would go a long way toward automating the formatting and allowing global adjustments.

There may be some plugin or formatting tool or something, but my approach is to make the most of integral features and only chain a project to a third-party helper as a last, best resort.
