Indesign currently requires multiple paragraph styles for doing numbered and lettered bullets.
the first one for the initial number or letter, the second for those that follow. You can't do this as one.
It gets trickier when you are nesting lettered bullets within numbered bullets. You obviously need to set up two styles to get the letters to list properly, but the harder challenge is to renumber the numbered bullet that follows the nested letters.
It wants to go to how ever many numbers ahead you have in lettered bullets before it. The "continuing numbering" option is always grayed out when I try to select the numbered bullet, so I am forced to "convert numbering and bullets to text".
In my example, I hade to change the numbered bullet, 4 from a 7 by converting to text.
In a perfect world, you would simply select the numbered bullet you want to renumber, change it and all that follow after will follow suite.
Am I missing something completely obvious?
