Issue with %OD Appearing in Links After Exporting PDF from InDesign

Explorer ,
Sep 18, 2024 Sep 18, 2024

It appears if all of the other links in the document are working.  I have deleted and physically recreated this link several times looking for spaces or other strange issues.  It is important to note, than when I test the link from within the document is works perfectly, but as soon as I export it to a PDF (interactive) it is adding the phantom %OD and the link won't work.  If after get the page not found error, I delete the %OD from the address line, the page will open fine.  I desparately need to get this to work properly.  I have attached the page in question.

I am using Adobe online on a PC.

Hi @JH-Wendy,

I understand how crucial it is to get your links working correctly, and I’m sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing. I’ve checked the attached PDF and the links seem to be working fine on my end. I didn’t see any "%OD" in the addresses.

A few suggestions to resolve this issue:

1. Ensure that your links are encoded correctly. Sometimes, special characters in URLs can cause issues during export. Try simplifying the URL or using a URL shortener if applicable.

2. Make sure you’re using the latest version of InDesign. Updates often fix bugs and improve compatibility with PDF exports.

3. When exporting, make sure you select the "Interactive PDF" option, and check the settings to ensure that no additional encoding or transformations are applied to the links.

4. As a workaround, after exporting the PDF, you might manually edit the PDF using Adobe Acrobat to remove any '%OD' characters if they appear. This can help ensure your links are correct.

If the problem persists, please let me know. We're here to help.

Thank you,
Abhishek Rao
