Just upgraded to Indesign 2017. When I package my file, there is either no document font folder or one that has very few fonts in that folder? Is there a bug with this new version?

In InDesign.

This is the non-technical forum Lounge. Not the InDesign forum. A moderator will need to move this question to the appropriate forum for you.

In your defense, many of the product forum pages have a prominent link to The Lounge that is pretty easy to accidentally click on and it kinda looks like it might be the thing to click if you want to ask a question. The forum's UI could use some work...

That's a charitable understatement.

If you’re using Typekit fonts, they won’t be packaged, nor will CJK fonts.

These are ordinary fonts that in the past I was able to package with a file, now it either doesn't make a document font folder or it only packages a few but not all. I know I can't package Typekit fonts. as for the CJK - honestly don't know what that is?

Ok, just looked up CJK and I never use those.

Just to rule out the most common, double-check that Copy Fonts is actually enabled.
Also, look in Type menu > Find Fonts and post a screen shot of that if you see anything unusual.

Checked both and nothing out of the ordinary. This time I checked the box under create Package Folder - View report. Indesign crashed but it did make a document font folder and the fonts appear to be all there. Starting to think this is a bug of some sort.

Try restoring your InDesign preferences:
Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

Trashed Preferences and tried again. Indesign crashed when trying to package. Made document font folder but still did not package all the fonts. None were CJK or Typekit fonts. Still think it is a bug in the new program.

You’re the only one reporting it. While CC2017 is far from bug free, this is likely something specific to your system.
Are you using any third-party extensions or plugins? Font manager?

Just upgraded to Suitcase Fusion 7 but the problem started after I upgraded to InDesign 2017. I just have to check each job and make sure that all the fonts that can be packaged are.

Well Indesign did not crash and it appeared to package this time. Will see how it works in other jobs.

Make sure SF is fully patched. If it is, you should report this Extensis.
Their support is excellent.

Thanks for jumping on this Bob. Yes, it's important to have the correct plug-ins installed for your version of Adobe CC.
In Suitcase Fusion, choose Suitcase Fusion > Manage Plug-ins (on macOS) or Tools > Manage Plug-ins (Windows). Use this menu to add and remove plug-ins for your versions of Adobe software.
