I am building a large digital book with InDesign and outputting to HTML5 with Ajar In5. I am finding that the standard animation tools within InDesign a little limited - is there a way (or a script) that extends these options? The Ken Burns Effect would be good.

The Ken Burns effect is all about panning and zooming. Within the Animation panel is a Preset drop down menu. There is a Move and Scale section that contains

  • Move Left and Grow
  • Move Left and Shrink
  • Move Right and Grow
  • Move Right and Shrink

You should see a range of options below the Properties title. If you don't, click the arrow to the left of the word Properties.

If you find the size change too extreme, set the Scale value something closer to 100%.

If you find the amount of movement inappropriate, change the length of the dotted green arrow within your document. Click once on the dotted green arrow to enable editing.
