Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working in InDesign After Updates 19.4 and 19.5

New Here ,
Jul 25, 2024 Jul 25, 2024

Hello, good morning everyone.

In the latest update versions of InDesign I noticed a problem regarding keyboard shortcuts. Alignment shortcuts stopped working. The bold, italic and regular shortcuts also stopped working. They started to occur in version 19.4 and were repeated in update 19.5. They have not been corrected. I would like to ask if there is any setting that corrects this.

Grateful, Angelo.

What platform and OS version?

Hi Robert,
Yes. I've done that. I restarted InDesign. Still the same thing.

Strange...

Just in case - how did you reset preferences?

Are the basics - Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V - working?

Hello @Fray38586997j2f4,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run InDesign under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? Also, try running InDesign under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Same problem here and I noticed it aswell with my students. The shortcut for showing and hiding the rules has changed and even then it is not working anymore. Customizing the shortcuts does not change it.

Maybe some other recently installed / updated application uses it?
