Hi, I've been using InDesign since the beginning & have never seen behavior like I'm currently experiencing. I'm currently using 18.1, & I'm guessing it automatically updated over the weekend because suddenly nothing works like it did last week. I can't do the simplest things like selecting a block of text & moving it or selecting a handle of a block of text & moving it. Or sometimes I can but it takes me several tries & then still doesn't quite do what I want it to.
I tried deleting preferences. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling software. The latter seemed to work, but only for a few minutes & then everything got glitchy again.
I'm working on M1 Mac Mini, OS 12.4. I'm in the middle of a major project deadline due at end of week & can't do a single thing until I can get this problem resolved, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Resolved: It may have been a hardware issue rather than software. Thought I'd ruled out mouse problems, because mouse seemed to be functioning normally for other purposes, but tonight mouse started failing in other ways. Plugged in an old USB mouse & things started working again. Sorry for the intrusion.

I suggest you install, the earlier version of InDesign until you've sorted out the issue with the current version (you can install other versions via the Creative Cloud app). Also turn off installing updates automatically.
By the way, how much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?
