Lines after an sentence (using paragraph styles)

I was wondering if someone can help me create a paragraph style which uses lines as well. Not normal 'rules on/below with the width of the text or column'. I need 2 styles:

 

The first is paragraph text (with different use of words), which ends with a dotted line tot the end of the frame. The idea is the line is to fill in text. But because every sentence is longer/shorter, I need the dotted line to start after every sentence with an x amount.

 

The second style needs to be an only 'fill in line' from the left to the right of the frame. It will be used when there will be more fill in text needed.

 

I don't want to use normal lines, as there are too many needed.

  1. Create a Character style with the line.
  2. Create a pararaph style with a GREP style, when a right tabulator (shift+tab) the Character Style is applied
    3. Write the text with a space (choose any fixed width) and shift+tab, or shift+tab.

It sounds that I'm looking for this solution. Unfortunately I don't know how to make a shift+tab as a shortcode (expression?). Or is it ^/t?

 

Can you help me with that?

Your image shows dots, which is why I presume Peter K suggested the tab leader, but when I do this sort of thing (typically when making forms) I set an underline for the tab rather than a leader to get a clean, solid, line. The underlione can be added as a nested or GREP style.

Set any tab stop in the paragraph style you use for that text. Set the Leader to a dot

Then insert a right-indent tab (after 'een vermoeden?' and at the start of a blank line. You can use the same style for both types of line (with or without text).

True. Though that's simple with a find-and-replace.

 

Another approach is to add a line in the paragraph style (using a paragraph rule or a paragraph border), using the column width, then create a character style, set its underline, and ul colour to Paper, its weight and offset so that it masks the paragraph rule or border below the text. That works only if you can lower the rule a bit so that descenders aren't touched.

 

And tey another method is to set a paragraph rule (or paragraph border), again setting its width to column, then use a script to set the left offset of the rules/borders selectively.
