Main Navigation ( topline) Glitch - anyone else experiencing this?

When I open indesign (M1 native version on a new MacBook pro) , I'd say every 1 in 4 times I open it, the topline navigation (File, Edit etc.) glitches out.

When I hover or click any of the options, no drop-down menu items appear, then when I click a second time they appear only until I move my mouse, and then it disappears again. It basically means I cannot use the or select any menu items at all.  It also happens on open tool windows such as links, or characters etc.

Even upon a force quit, it still does it. Only a hard restart seems to solve the glitch.

Any solutions or is anyone else experiencing this glitch?

thanks

Have you tried using F to switch through screen modes to see if it resets? Are you using application frame (floating window)?

What version of InDesign are you running?

If resetting preferences doesn't work then try deleting your InDesign cache files. Deleting these files usually works for problems occurring with the interface itself.

To do so on a Mac:

The User Library folder in which InDesign’s cache files are stored is hidden by default on most Macintoshes. To access it make sure that InDesign is closed and click on the desktop to launch a Finder Window (Command-N). With this window in column view follow the path User>Home folder (it’s the folder with an icon that looks like a house—it may have the user’s name rather than “Home”) and click on the Home folder. With the Option Key pressed choose Library from the Finder Go Menu. “Library” will now appear within the Home folder. Within the Library folder find the “Caches” folder. Within the Caches folder find and delete the entire folder “Adobe InDesign”. I find that deleting the InDesign cache folder completely leads to a lasting change.

I've also found that a force quit of the finder will bring it back to normal - still not ideal that it keeps happening. Will try the trouble shooting suggestions and let everyone know if / what solution works
