Major Preview Glitch InDesign

I'm having a major glitch with preview screen mode in InDesign. When you toggle it on multiple elements on the page disappear, and this is happening on most documents and has only started within the last few days since the the last update. This is a major glitch when working on clients work when tings just start disappearing and not knowing if that is how it will print etc. I have uploaded a before and after image to show what disappears.

Turn off GPU Performance in your preferences.

Thanks this does seem to work, but I do loose the animated zoom.

I'm not sure why this has suddenly started happening.

This feature has been wonky forever. It finally bit you. Not sure what to tell you, but you can read countless discussions about it here.

Hi, Can you confirm the exact version of your operating system and software.

Looking at your screenshots, it looks like it is one colour that disapear. Is that correct?

I Have InDesign 16.4 and I am running macOS Mojave version 10.14.6.

It's not one particular colour, it is pretty random what disappears, in one document its mainly when pasting an image into a shape, the image disappears.

In the document on the screenshot if I grab the top grey bar and move it around the page, different parts of the page will disappear or reappear.
