How do I get back to my windows/menus on the right collapsing vertically?  Suddenly the flyouts are all opening on the left of the main column, which is covering some of my workspace and mostly is just slowing down my workflow.  I've been using it the same way for years.  Surely there's a quick fix. Thank you!

Try restting the workspace (Window > Workspace > Reset [workspace name]

If that doesn't do it, reset the prefs next: Reset InDesign Preferences and Other Troubleshooting

I actually figured it out.  I just had to go thru setting up my preferences and menus like the first time I ever installed InDesign, for some reason.
