Mouse Pointer Changed from Arrow to Pen Tip

Engaged ,

I made some random keystroke, which made a change to my mouse pointer.

I tried closing and reopening my document, and closing and reopening inDesign. Nothing changed. Must be some setting within the document.

How can I reset that?

Which tool do you have selected? The pen tip is what you see when the pen tool is selected, and the keystroke to select the pen tool is the letter p. The letter v will get you to the Select tool (black arrow).

Now I am seeing '#' symbols to R. of all text in the document. However, they do _not_ show up in the exported PDF.

Is there a way to remove those?

Hi Jack:

The blue # is the end of story marker. To hide those, and the other non-printing characters, disable Type > Hide Hidden Characters. There is a list of most of the non-printing characters on this page: Edit text in InDesign
