New objects no fill or stroke color

Community Beginner ,
Dec 13, 2019 Dec 13, 2019

I have the following problem: if I draw a new object with the pen tool or if I want to create any other new object (like a rectangular box), the attributes / the appearance that should be applied to the new object (fill or stroke color) doesn't show. It's always a blank, invisable object. I have never had such an issue and no idea how this suddenly came up.

I restared the application, my computer and just updated to the newest version of indesign.

Any clues how I can fix this appreciated!

Hey there, make sure that your object style is in [Basic Graphics Frame] not in [None] then set the fill and stroke color when no object selected. Now create a new frame.

Could it be that you have checked the "Nonprinting" option in the Attributes palette with no document/obejct open? If so, all new objects would be non printable.
