NO VERTICAL TEXT TOOL

Dear All,

I didn't seen the Vertical Text Tool there are only Normal Text and Text on the Path buttons, so I difficult to create the vertical text in the Text Frame, as per screen shot below.

Please advice me how to solve it.

There is no Vertical Text Tool in western language versions of InDesign.

Dear Dov,

Thank you for your information, unfortunately no Vertical Text Tool for all language, please add this Vertical Text Tool on the next InDesign Update... this Vertical Text Tool  I think for the user very useful as they want to create a Cover Book or a DVD Case Cover with the Vertical Text for vertical area between left & side area, without import from Illustrator.

Like Mary1957 says, if there isn't one, why is it in the manual? Not exactly difficult to remove a reference...

One of many, many incorrectly or poorly written parts of the Help files. We've been complaining about it for years.

Holy hell Adobe. I can't believe this still isn't a feature after all these years.

I use ID & data merge for exporting mass amounts of signage at once (unit ids, etc) and sometimes the numerals are vertical.

Would love to see native support for  vertical type.

So did you essentially just place a hard return after every character?

Will that code work with the english keyboard?

There is a Vertical Text tool in Illustrator. You could create what you want there.

Thank you Steve for your advice, unfortunately there are no Vertical Text Tool in InDesign, we hope in the next product update/patch Adobe can add this tool.
