object style with nested styles

Hi, i need some help, please

I have a group of styles for side content, the H1 and the copy, thats it. see below:

When i make and object style and i apply the H1, it all works, when i check "apply next style" however, it applies the H1 to what should be the "body copy" since that is the next style in the list from top to bottom. see below

what am i doing wrong?

Is the body copy style actually defined as a next style in the H1 style definition?

It has to be defined as the next style in the paragraph style, not just listed as the next one in the styles panel.
