Option drag, Shift drag etc. not working in InDesign when using Citrix Viewer

While using Citrix Viewer for client-related work on my Mac, the Shift, Option, Control and Command keyboard shortcuts do not work correctly in Indesign, but do work in other applications.

This is obviously an Adobe problem that has never been fixed.

Is there a workaround?

I have newest updates all round including OSMonterey. The same problem happened in Big Sur though as well.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Generally, it happens due to third-party applications such as Chrome, antivirus interfering with the keyboard keys. In your case, it could be the Critix viewer.

You may try resetting the InDesign Preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-locations.html) to see if that helps resolve the issue.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

We will be looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Anshul Saini
