Hello,
I have created a form layout in InDesign and there is a field of a list box with 4 items and then one of them is Other. If someone chooses other, I'd like them to be able to write what "other" is. Would it be best to lay out the options with check boxes/radio buttons rather than a drop down list?
Also, I am just thinking, (but will Google this), the first option in the list box is highlighted, but I'd like something that will say "Choose one" or "Select"..etc..
Thank you.
You can not designate a drop down list in Indesign to allow the user to enter custom text. But, you can create your combo box in Indesign, and then in Acrobat, select the option in the field property for the user to do this.

Great to know, thank you.
So others know, I right clicked on the field in Acrobat, went to Properties, clicked on Options and checked Allow user to enter custom text.

Jeff is correct here. InDesign can do a lot with creating forms, but sometimes you'll have to finish the job in Acrobat.
