Hello,
an idea im thinking off is this: maybe you have checked this box, to "do not print nor export", please check.

Thank you for your help! That might be, but unfortunately i don't have that option in CS6 😞 It seems that this is a bug in previous versions of InDesign 😞

Hi,
CS6? Paragraph shading and paragraph borders were introduced with InDesign CC 2015.

Hi adamm_rs,
ok, that's InDesign CS6. So could you show that detail with Normal View, frame edges showing, invisible characters showing? Or better: Export the document to IDML and attach the IDML file ( or the InDesign document ) to your answer so that we can have a look into your document.
Thanks,

I think the answer lies in the title of the discussion
Indesign CS6 doesn't have any native paragraph border and shading options
but when opening an IDML file that originated from CC, the border and corner option is added to the paragraph styles dialogue box - and the preview does indeed show the borders and shading - but Indesign does not add them to the exported pdf
this feature exists also in Indesign CS4, the IDML brings in the option but doesn not allow it to export

Hi Yoel,
do you have a sample IDML file where that happens?
Just tested with InDesign 2022 with paragraph shading and paragraph border, exported to IDML and opened with CS6 on the same machine. Shading and border is missing in CS6 as I would expect that.
Sample of shading and border in InDesign 2022:
Exported to IDML. Opened the IDML in InDesign CS6:
Download the IDML file from my Dropbox account and test yourself:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wg588aky38hndri/ParaShadingAndBorder-2022.idml?dl=1
Usually the rule with IDML and features that it can carry is this:
If the recieving version of InDesign has not a particular feature, the feature described in the IDML file is ignored.
So I wonder how the shading was done in the document of the OP.
Could be a product of a 3rd-party-plug-in perhaps that was missing.
