Paragraph spacing before or after goes in increments of .0625 inches. How do I adjust to any measure in between, such as .02 inches? If I set to .02, the program ignores it and uses either zero or the next 0.625 increment.

That is correct if you are using inches, and if you are increasing/decreasing the spacing values with the arrows in front of the value. You can always type in any increment you like and press Enter or Tab to accept the value.

I will also note this is one reason I work with points and picas. Points are much more precise that inches (72 pts to 1 inch). The up/down arrows increment one point at a time, Shift+ click the arrow for 10 pts.

Second (probably second-millionth) on using points and picas. It all makes so much more sense when doing page layout, and helps avoid having to use a myriad of odd fractions.

Also, you can type in values in any of the accepted measurements, regardless of what you have the default and display set to. For instance, if you are using points, you can enter line spacing as "20mm" or "0.25in" and it will accept the value and convert it to points. Just use the correct two-letter measurement specification. (I use this often, when I'm too tired to figure out what 2.5 inches is in pica/points. 🙂 )
