Hi,
I'm currently working on a book and I got the text in a Word document. It's not my first book and usually I don't have any problem but I am stuck here. I imported the text as usually with the importation option, everything went well. I started placing the text and when I arrived at the 50th page the text isn't visible anymore. It really is there because when I delete the 'enters' the text appears on the page but not on the second. I checked and the text blocs are well chained, it is in black, and there is enough pages for the text to appear. It is really all there since the little red box with a red cross in it isn't appearing. I have deleted the ''empty'' pages and add new ones but nothing changed... I don't want to start over since I am far gone now... Sorry if I don't have all the good terms, my Indesign is in french.
Thanks for your help, it is much needed!
Kelly.
Hi Barb,
Unfortunatly this isn't the problem, but I have resolved it. I don't know why but I expended the text box and everything appeared! I think that it was just a wrong text style from Word that was bugging.
Thank you!

Hi Kelly:
If the text is there but not visible there may be a forced break in the text. It could take the form of a column break or page break break character (which came in with the Word document), or it may be assigned via a paragraph style.
Start by looking for a break character. Enable Show Hidden Characters and examine the very last visible text. Do you see an odd character at the end?
Column Break
Page Break
If you see one of those blue characters, delete it and the text that follows should reappear.
It could a variety of other things, so if this isn't it, please share a screen shot of the entire InDesign page with the Pages panel and the hidden characters visible.
