Bonjour,

Indesign only shows a proxy of the image - not the image itself

I wrote an article here
https://creativepro.com/high-res-image-look-low-res/

While your image is 5000 x 7000 pixels at 300 dpi, it’s essential to ensure that it’s suitable for the poster size.

At 300 dpi, your image should ideally be able to cover a maximum size of approximately 16.67 inches x 23.33 inches (5000 px / 300 dpi and 7000 px / 300 dpi).

For a 1 m x 2.5 m poster (approximately 39.37 inches x 98.43 inches), your image will not have sufficient resolution, resulting in pixelation upon printing.

Which means your image will be about 72 ppi when printed because it will have to fill the height

--------------------------

This also brings us to viewing distance

If your viewing distance is going to be more than 5 meters to not see any resolution issues

It also comes down to how much detail is in the image, is it super sharp with lots of lines and angles, or peoples faces, or a foggy scene
