Hi,
I have a problem with the position measurement of my crop marks.
For example, here is the position of the lower right vertical crop mark. It is wrong. It should be 2.125".
When I Cut/Paste in place, the measurement is now good:
However, if I deselect, and reselect, the problem comes again:
What is going on?
Thanks!
Chris.

Hi Chris,
select the top path point with the Direct Selection Tool ( the white arrow tool ) and read out its position. What does it say?
Also check your options of the Transformation Panel. Is stroke weight included or excluded in measurements?

Uwe

Hi Chris,
2.375 in is the position of the lower point of your line. If you select it with direct selection tool and then you active the selection tool InDesign maintains the previous selection (the lower point).

Thanks! However, as you can see, I selected the higher point in the Transformation Panel:

So both path points have the same x-value ?
And if you click all three upper dots of the 9-dots widget you are showing, they all show the same x-value?

Uwe

Nothing makes sense...
Should read 2.125":
Should read 2.125":
Should read 2.125":
Should read 2.375":
The crop mark was selected with the Direct Selection Tool in all the images.
The only measurement that makes sense is when I only select one point like in this image:

Hi Christian,
I tested a bit with my CC 2018.1 version of InDesign on WIndows 10.
Found no issues with copy/paste in place that points to your issue.
What is your version of InDesign?
On what operating system?
Regards,
Uwe

Ah yes. It's the y-value you're after, not the x-value.
It should make no difference, because Dimensions include Stroke Weight is off, but:
What kind of cap is using your stroke? Also miter limit should not affect the result.
Hm. Did you consider to trash your InDesign preferences?
Or maybe it's a bug with your OS X version of CC 2018.1 ?
Regards,
Uwe
