Problematic internal links in InDesign CS6 to pdf

Hi all,
I have two problems with internal links in an Indesign CS6 document.

1. The internal links worked fine in the original .indd file (i.e. clicking on a word leads to the correct page in the same document(Anchor)).
However, when exporting to a .pdf file, the internal links don't work, and clicking on it does nothing.
There seems to be no logic to it - some links work, others don't. The info is correct in the Links window.

2. Some of those internal links are suddenly referred to an external destination (website , which is wrong destination in this case) despite no changes made to these particular pages.

 Did anyone encounter this problem?

Did you export as Interactive PDF? Are you testing in Acrobat, Acrobat Reader or some third party reader?

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response.

1. We tried exporting as Interactive PDF & also PDF for print

We tried testing both in  Acrobat Pro &  Acrobat Reader.

All  had the same results.

Could it be the result of  CS6 which is at thr end of its life?

Anyother idea?

2. Is there a way to find the problematic links in the CS6 itself?

3. We have noticed now the same problem of faulty internal links also in another book (CC2023) what can be the problem?

Thanks

Maybe your document is corrupted.

Try IDMLing - export as IDML, open, save with a new name - do not overwrite your original file.

If you send me your file - can be on priv, click my name and you'll see "send message" button - I can check it for you.

Thanks a lot for all your help. We managed to identify the "problem files" & changed it manually.

From now on we will work in CC2023 version. However,  we tested a sample &  found that "shared destination" is still present despite changing it manually in CS6 (!?)   (but this time the link worked correctly) .

From your experience, would we need to change the wrong "shared destination" one by one or can it be done in an easier way?

I have attached a screen grab with an example to what I am reffering to re  the Shared destination problem.
At the "Edit Hyperlink" window, In the Link To bar, some links were automatically changed to the Shared destination option despite the fact that we added them as URL. It wasn't changed by us, it just happened and caused problems with the links.
As this book continually updated ( a new edition is planed) we plan to work in CC2023 from now on.

Could you please instruct us what is the best way of doing it without losing the external & internal links.

Example fot "shared destination":

Many thanks
