Hi!
Recently, while using Peter Kahre's sidenotes script I encountered an error message: "Invalid value for parameter 'reference' of method 'move'. Expected Text, Story, Cell, Row, Column, Table, or Page Item, but received nothing. (line 37)."
Since this error appeared, I haven’t been able to continue using the script, and unfortunately, I couldn't convert the footnotes to sidenotes as I had intended.
If someone have any advice on resolving this issue, I would be truly grateful. 🙂

Unfortunately, we are not mind readers.
Platform, OS and InDesign versions?

Hi @anacbahia, could you set up a little test .indd document that shows the problem and post it here? Also we should tag @Peter Kahrel here. 🙂

Hi! I'm having an issue too. It says invalid parameters (line 180). I spent hours trying to fix the code with the help of AI but nothing... I'm very frustrated. I'm importing a text from word and trying to transform the footnotes in sidenotes for my thesis. I don't know if something of that could be related.
There is someone here that can help me? please! I'm very greatefull with @Peter Kahrel for the script, I don't know if maybe he can help.
Thank you very much!

Please post (or send me) your InDesign file so I can investigate (an InDesign file with the Word text placed but therwise unprocessed). In future, write to me straight away rather than trying to fix it yourself, with or without AI.

I don't know what I did but it's working now. I just tried evreything again from the beggining with the original script and it worked! Maybe there was something I was doing wrong, because I'm not an expert with InDesgin.
Thank you very much Peter, the script is going to be very helpfull! You'll be in the acknowledgments of my thesis
Regards!
