After updating InDesign to version 20.3, it is no longer possible to scale proportionally using Shift Date or Shift+Alt. Neither downgrading to 20.2 nor restarting helped. I also renamed the old InDesign files in the library. Please help, as it is not really possible to work with InDesign like this. (Macbook Pro M3 Max 128Gb - MacOS 15.4.1 (24E263)

Any third party apps? WebOS, Typeface, Magnet?
Basic fixes
----------
Try resetting your preferences:
InDesign 19.3 and newer go to Preferences > General > and click on "Reset Preferences on Quit" and then quit and restart.
Or
Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Hi @stefang14945369:
One more note to add to Eugene's list of suggestions: we have had multiple reports of keyboard shortcuts not working because of interference from other applications—most typically anti-malware or anti-virus apps. Webroot caused such a big issue for folks that they added the steps needed to stop the interference with InDesign's shortcuts on the support page on their website.
Try restarting your computer and only open InDesign. Do the shortcuts work again? If no, disable the start-up applications and restart one more time and try again. Once you know that this is a possibility, if it is the issue, just being aware of it can help you zero in on the problem app.
