Question about using indesign to create a catalog utilizing Data Merge

Trying to create a multiple page catalog in indesign using a csv excel file is it possible for the data merge to fill across the entirety of the catalog that has several pages with different page layouts?

This is what a typical page layout would look like:

If you're looking for the design flexibility and variation shown in your examples, you're going to need something more robust than InDesign's Data Merge capabilities. I'd suggest something like Em Data's InCatalog solution to manage catalog automation with InDesign. You can find out more about InCatalog through this link.

You rather need custom tool for this kind of a layout... to have much more flexibility with extra post-processing...
