Hello!
This is something that doesn't happen often, but often enough that it's really starting to bother me. It always starts when I copy text from a different source (such as a PDF, a word document, email, etc.) and paste it into InDesign, usually to replace other text. I then decide that I didn't want to do that and hit CTRL+Z to undo, but InDesign doesn't do anything. If I go up and click the Edit Menu I see "Undo Set Scripting Tag" associated with CTRL+Z. No matter how many times I hit CTRL+Z it won't undo my pasting of text, so I sometimes lose work because I have to close the document without saving to revert to before I made the change.
I don't even know what a scripting tag is, never use them, or know how to work with them. Why does CTRL+Z get stuck on Undo Set Scripting Tag? Is there any way to bypass that and make CTRL+Z actually do what I want it to do (undo my last action)? How do I avoid accidentally setting a scripting tag?
This has happened on multiple versions of Windows and computer types. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi edie,
there is a scripting tag palette under Window > Script Label
Select some of the pageItems in the document.
Maybe this helps to find out what script or plugin is setting the scripting tag.
Thanks Stefan

Have you checked your keyboard shortcuts?
It would be strange that Ctrl-Z have been reassigned but it's worth having a look...

Hi Edie,
We are sorry for this frustrating experience. Please try resetting preferences for InDesign: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign
Hope this helps!

Srishti
