Re: Error when placing an .xlsx file into InDesign [branched]

I just now saw this after I posted pretty much the same question! I'm getting the same error message when attempting to import an .xlsx file. The file I have is directly from Microsoft Office - Excel. Tried saving as .csv but that won't even let me select it. It's grayed out.

MacOS 10.13.6 High Sierra

InDesign 14.0.1

Excel file came from a Windows computer. I do not have Office on my computer.

Actually, my laptop is Windows. I'll try opening the file there and renaming/resaving, although I did try placing another xlsx file that I KNOW was created in Excel and that gave me the same message.

[branched. this is not the same question unless your file is a Google Doc file that was saved into Excel]

Hi there,

Sorry about the delay. I am hopeful that the issue was fixed. If not, please try saving the excel file as Comma Delimited CSV and then place the file in InDesign.

If the issue is related to this particular file, will it be possible for you to share the file? If yes, please save it to Creative Could and share a download link.

In case you need any help while sharing the file with Creative cloud, you may refer to this help article: Share Adobe Creative Cloud files, libraries, prototypes, and more.

Thanks,

Srishti
